On August 24, two representatives from the International Cooperation and Exchange Center of the North China Institute of Aerospace Engineering (NCIAE), Yin Jing and Zhai Jun, were invited to attend a meeting of the Working Group on Information Technology and Cybersecurity, operating under the Subcommission on Communications and Information Technology of the Sino-Russian Commission for Regular Meetings Between Heads of Government.

The meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, was held online and brought together government, university, and industry representatives from both China and Russia to discuss cooperation in areas such as digital education and cybersecurity. The working group reviewed achievements in bilateral cooperation over the past year. Among the Russian speakers were Bengin Vladimir, Director of the Cybersecurity Department at the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, and Karimova Irina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation at St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, along with seven other representatives from Russian companies and universities.

Yin Jing delivered remarks on cooperation in the field of digital education. She expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for its support of the Sino-Russian cooperative education program between NCIAE and St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, and provided updates on the university’s current enrollment scale, the planning of its new campus, and the progress of the cooperative education program.

This marked the second time that NCIAE and St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications participated in the working group meeting under the Subcommission on Communications and Information Technology of the Sino-Russian Commission for Regular Meetings Between Heads of Government. The attendance provided the university with valuable insights into industry trends and talent demands, while also reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to cultivating professionals with expertise tailored to the needs of the sector. Building on their cooperative education program as a new starting point, the two universities aim to leverage their respective strengths, jointly serve industry needs, and contribute to the development of high-level information technology professionals for China, Russia, and other countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
