NCIAE and Universiti Sains Malaysia Hold Talks on Potential Collaboration

On December 7, the North China Institute of Aerospace Engineering (NCIAE) held an online meeting with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) to discuss potential collaboration. The session brought together representatives from USM’s International Office and its Schools of Civil Engineering and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, along with officials from NCIAE’s International Cooperation and Exchange Center, the School of Architectural Engineering, and the Center’s international affairs staff.

The meeting began with brief introductions by the heads of the international offices from both universities, who outlined their institutions’ overall profiles and current international engagement. Participants then delved into discussions on areas of mutual interest, covering joint training programs for master’s and doctoral students (including faculty members), student exchanges and short-term study tours as well as summer and winter programs, faculty visits, collaborative research and teaching initiatives—including joint applications for international projects and research platforms—and the exchange of technical and academic delegations, alongside the co-hosting of international academic conferences.

USM’s International Office representatives and the respective deans provided detailed explanations regarding these initiatives and their university’s relevant policies. They warmly welcomed NCIAE’s upcoming delegation and expressed their expectation to sign a memorandum of understanding with NCIAE in areas of shared interest, aiming to establish a long-term and stable partnership.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Yin Jing, former Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Center, delivered a farewell address. She expressed her appreciation to USM for its efficient, dedicated, and professional approach, and extended her best wishes for the success of the future collaboration between the two institutions. The meeting concluded in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.
