From March 24 to 31, a delegation led by Hao Yulong, Party Secretary of NCIAE, visited universities in Malaysia and Japan at the invitation of partner institutions. The visit aimed to further expand practical cooperation in teaching, research, and talent cultivation.

In Malaysia, the delegation visited the University of Malaya and Universiti Sains Malaysia. At the University of Malaya, Secretary Hao met with Vice Chancellor Professor Lam Ai Lian and held discussions with university leadership and relevant school officials. Talks focused on talent cultivation, cooperative education, academic exchanges, and the international development of higher education institutions in China and Malaysia.

At Universiti Sains Malaysia, the delegation held detailed discussions with the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Mechanical Engineering, reaching preliminary agreements on talent cultivation and academic exchange in the fields of construction engineering and mechanical engineering. The delegation also toured several research facilities, including the Architectural Design Laboratory led by Professor Teow Teow Tong at the University of Malaya, as well as the Fluid Laboratory, Mechanics Laboratory, and Robotics Laboratory at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

In Japan, the delegation visited Gunma University and Muroran Institute of Technology. Meetings were held with Vice President Mianxiong Dong of Muroran Institute of Technology and officials from both institutions. The two sides exchanged views and reached consensus on faculty exchanges, international capacity building, student exchange programs, and joint doctoral student training.

The delegation also visited the Education Office of the Chinese Embassy in Japan and was warmly received by Minister Counselor Du Kewei. Minister Du welcomed the delegation, provided an overview of higher education in Japan, and expressed the Education Office’s support for exchanges and collaboration between NCIAE and Japanese universities and research institutions. He expressed hope to see more NCIAE faculty and students study and conduct research in Japan in the future. Secretary Hao thanked Minister Du for his hospitality and briefed the Education Office on NCIAE’s academic programs, expressing hope for continued guidance and support in strengthening ties with Japanese institutions.

This visit aligned with the internationalization goals outlined in NCIAE’s 14th Five-Year Plan. It served to introduce the university, deepen mutual understanding, and advance practical cooperation, laying a solid foundation for future exchanges with institutions in Malaysia and Japan. The trip played a key role in expanding and deepening NCIAE’s international partnerships.

The delegation included key representatives from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Art and Design, and the International Exchange Center.
